EMPAKAI CRATER WALK: rated SUPERB

This 4 day walking safari is within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania and follows a route through the Empakai Crater to Oldoinyo Lengai. The walk is lead by Masai warriors and is orientated toward the more serious walker, this is not the walking safari for someone looking to have a short daily ramble.

MOUNT MAKAROT DAY HIKE: rated SUPERB

This one day African mountain hike is best as part of a longer road safari and the route over the summit of Mount Makarot is challenging, but suitable for even the moderately fit walker. The mountain hike is lead by a Masai warrior and the views of the Serengeti plains from the summit of the volcano are just stupendous. This African mountain hike is a must do for anyone on a road safari around Tanzania or Africa.
