"We are Iain and Caroline Derrick, we live in the UK at present as we plan a way to get ourselves and our family back out to Africa."
Iain is the hairy assed bush boy who has worked as a guide all over southern and east Africa. He knows these regions well enough to know all the back roads and how to get to do the really cool stuff. He deals with most of our customers as he has the in depth knowledge that is necessary to put together a top safari.
Caroline is a lovely English girl who loves to walk and is passionate about Africa. Caroline is the business and logistical brain behind the operation. They met in Africa and Iain moved to the UK to court and marry Caroline.
"We set up Walking with Wildlife as we got tired of referring our friends - most of them wanted to travel to Africa - to tour operators in the UK who pushed them into doing mass market, tourist drongo trashy safaris. We feel that there are really great walks and safaris out there, that there is no need to follow the crowds. With this in mind we set up the site to attract like minded people who we could steer in the "right" direction."
Almost by definition the cooler walking and safari stuff is off the beaten trail and not very well known - most of these trips may not be something that the Jones's will want to experience, but those who do will have a few stories/lies to tell at the dinner table for a few years to come.
