Botswana, due to the country's political stability, has become a safe choice for anyone looking to enjoy a walking safari holiday in Africa. Touristy consumerism has been embraced by the government in Botswana, as well as the local people and the big hitting safari companies. Collectively these parties have endeavoured to make as much money as possible from the natural resources while still doing a fantastic job on conserving / preserving the resource.
For you and I this means that most of the best concessions (most areas under wildlife are put to management and marketing tender - the safari company that pays the most gets the contract and thereby the concession) are very expensive and generally have been diluted into a luxury safari product by the elderly American complainer - "Where's the air conditioning?" - being a favourite.
